Ma Ma Ma MY VERONA!

OK, OK, I know it's supposed to be My Sharona, but it just works, so let's go with it.

The final stop in the land of Italia has been made. It was in the northern section of that great big leather boot in the city of Verona. It's a small town popular for a little known love story called, Romeo and Juliet. That's really it's claim to fame. Juliet is buried there, you can visit the famous balcony, and every chotchkie in the city has some ode to love on it. They had glitter post cards there. Gross.

We L-O-V-E-D this sweet little town!! We arrived early on Sunday morning and Ragan headed out for a bit while I got cozy in an awesome bed! Is there a theme here? Sort of, but just for the weekend. He found an awesome market going on in the main plaza and he brought me back one of my favorites! The most beautiful little basket of strawberries. Yum! They didn't even look real, so I ate them all in one sitting. They were just too perfect to lay around and be all pretty and stuff. He had scouted parts of he city, so we headed out to see it together. Adorable is a good word for it. Verona is super family oriented and small enough to walk in a day or so. We found the famous Juliet balcony and it was mobbed with people! Kind of took the charm away, but that's part of it I guess.

The famous Romeo and Juliet balcony. Does anyone feel like they need to go back to 9th grade English and start reciting, "O Romeo, Romeo! Wherefore art thou Romeo?..."

Here's sweet Juliet now. This is actually the statue in Munich because I never photographed the one in Verona. Why Munich? I have no idea. But poor Juliet's right boob gets it in every city. The thing to do is, stand with Juliet and put your hand on her right teet. That's Ragan's invisble self standing next to her. No way was I getting him up there. You can't tell in this shot, but her right boob is quite shiny...in both countries.

Who said there was only one Colosseum in Rome? Little Verona needs one too! And they still use theirs. It's a major outdoor concert venue that sits next to their main plaza.

Verona sits on the river and it flows throughout the city.

This is the fountain in the center of another major plaza in Verona. They had a market there, but it was gross tourist stuff.

The rest of our time in Europe is fast and furious. Pretty much from here on out we will be visiting smaller towns for about two days each. We are on the home stretch. As much as we have loved being over here and experiencing all that we have, we will be happy to come home to the US and start to settle back in. Eat some Southern food! Sleep in our own bed! Play with our dog that we miss!See our friends and family! But until then, we are going to soak it all in like two big sponges!

See you guys in Munich!
